Bailando en la playa in Uruguay

Uruguay and Parque del Plata

Finally we are here!!!!! Friendly Nahir and Daiver (my fathers friend) picked us up in Montevideo and waited for us eventhough the boat was 3 hours late.
We are now sleeping, eating, cooling of in the pool and on the beach. We are trying to plan for our next destination and to get back on our saddles again but right now I (Ellen) must say it is a bit difficult because life here in Parque del Plata is pretty sweet!

Puerto Montt-Bariloche-Buenos Aires

So we came to Puerto Montt and waited for a bus to take us first to Bariloche and then we had to get another bus to Buenos Aires. First the angry man that was loading our bikes on to the bus to Bariloche almost made Marco violent when he refused to be careful with our bikes. It felt more that he was determined to brake them in some way. After 7 hours threw some really beautiful landscape, that we where a bit sad taht we didn't we arrived to bariloche at 10 pm. We asked another biker about a hostel and he came with us to show us some good ones, but everything was full!
Then Nacho, our savior, said that we could sleep at his house. In the morning the next day he came with us to the busstation and helped us to convince the busdriver to take us and our bikes to Buenos Aires but it was a big no no! It felt a bit hopeless when we saw the bus leave without us. But Nachos showed us Bariloche and we got the chance to get to know him and his lovely family so we had a really good time anyway. This is why you travel, to meet generous and kind people! The next day he helped us to pack up our bikes in a better way and we where on our way to Buenos Aires. After 22hours on the bus we put our stuff together and biked down to the port and Buquebus boats that would take us to Montevideo and Uruguay!

Boat from Puerto Natales to Puerto Montt

Goodbye Puerto Natales!
So a nice boatride threw the fjords. The weather got warmer and warmer closer we came to the north. We saw bluewhales or the water they spurted far away. We also had some dolphins who followed the boat. A lady shouted pinguin but I only saw a splash so I guess we cant really count that one in. It was nice to get served food morning, lunch and dinner. We read a lot and watched some documentaries they showed about Patagonia. It was weird to think that we biked pretty much the same way but on land.

National Park Torres del Payne

Five days hiking in beautiful Park Torres del Payne. It was a lot of tourist but we found that we got some alone time aswell. We celebrated New Years eve at the free Torres Camping and went early to bed to be able to get up 4am to see the sunrise over the Torres mountains.
We where lucky with good weather, only a few drops of rain one day and the last two days it was really strong winds but our tent was standing strong. It is a beautiful park but unfortunatly a tourist caused a forestfire not longtime ago so the west part of the park is badly burnt. It is also quite expensive both the bus to get there and to enter the park so it is a bit of a tourist trap but it was worth a visit. We also tried Marcos briliant ide to leave the stove in Puerto Natales and only eating cold food like porridge for breakfast and dinner and sandwiches for lunch. It was ok but I can say I ran to the pizza place when I came back to Puerto Natales after way to much porridge for 5 days!
