Passed the Argentina-Bolivia border in La Quiaca and got to Villazon straight away. The queuing at the border wad not too bad and we just had to wait about 45 min.
The road towards Tupiza is paved and, apart from the big tourist buses that forced us to jump off the ruta every now and then, it was a pleasent ride.
We stopped down a small canyon at the side of the road, just some 30 km before Tupiza.ç
We thought it was a nice camp spot and a perfect hide, until we saw an old woman coming down the steep ridge shouting orders to the herd hound in Quechua.
At night, Marco was awakened and puzzled by the rolling of drums. Only the next day, we understood it was the Carneval sounds from the nearby village reaching us trhough the gorge.
