San Antonio de los Cobres - RN40/RN52 crossing

We stayed with Fred at luxurious Hotel Belgrano that was run by a 87 year old lady. We all went out and celebrated my birthday a couple of days late beacuse my real birthday dinner was smashed potatoes just before the pass.
We enjoyed S.A de los Cobres nightlife playing pool with locals.
We said goodbye to our new friends and went on on routa 40 wich proved be a bit too difficult for our thin tyres. It was a lot of sand so we cheated and hitchhiked with two devilblack pickup trucks full of friendly tourists. Temptation in the desert?
We reached the routa40/routa52 crossing and biked a few kilometers to see Salinas Grandes. Then we camped next to the only house we could see. We asked the family for permission so we could get shelter from the wind.
