Juli - Chucuito: 7th March, 61 km
Ellen stands before a local kindergarden. This could become her workplace if we decided not to let go from Copacabana and Las Olas.
Peru's Immigration Office.
Lago Titicaca is just as nice on the other side of the border!
For our dear brazilian friends (and collegues) Ana&Andre, beware! In Juli it is very hard to find something else to eat than chicken. It is even difficult to find vegetables in the market!
There are no pictures of our day from Juli to Chucuito, we were striken by rain and hail. This is when we started to ask ourselves if we should not give up our Colca Canyon project and take a bus down south. We did not like the feeling of being in Sweden while cycling through Peru on our six-month leave!
Chicuito makes for a very nice and peaceful alternative to the more chaotic Puno. We got trout and beer for dinner and a nice room in the hostel Las Cabañas. There, we decided, we would leave bikes and equipment while getting to Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu by bus.
