Getting out of El Alto took also more than one hour, but the Toyota minibuses behaved pretty nice to us so that it did not feel too sketchy.
More pampas and more rain led us to Lago Titicaca, where we felt both nature and people cheered up more than in the altiplano
We had read about Maximos Catari's Hostal (Inti Karka) on another cyclists' blog, but still finding it took us a while, in VERY HEAVY RAIN.
The hostal felt like a norwegian mountain cabin, simple but really comfortable.
Maximo showed us some of his works in reed. He learnt again traditional technics to build reed boats and have even met and helpt Thor Heyerdahl. A really nice place and a really nice family.
The trout based dinner and beer tasted really good with the nice view over Lago Titicaca.
